Do beauty and politics mix? If you take a glance at France where president Nicolas Sarkozy stunned the world when he wed ex super model and singer Carla Bruni in February 2008 it seems that the ‘B’ and the ‘P’ are compatible. Here in Beverly Hills it’s a bit different. But nevertheless I had a ‘when beauty meets politics’ kinda experience the other day. Maybe not on a so glamorous scale as ‘Le French almost royals’, but still.
When I’m feeling in the dumps and in desperate need of a quick pick-me-up fix I don’t go to the gym, which I probably should (damn it’s been almost 2 months with no gym.. and it shows…) But no, I go and pay my favorite Beverly Hills spa called SPA 415 a visit. Here I’m introduced to something called a ‘photo facial’. I don’t know exactly what it is, but it doesn’t hurt and it works. The skin looks so much better and plumber after one of her treatments. The owner of the spa, Liza is a genius when it comes to ‘pick-me-up’ sessions. (oh and PS – last time I was there ‘Lily from ‘Gossip Girl ‘AKA Kelly Rutherford was there and she looks stunning in real life. XOXO)
So the other day Liza had an event where she invited a bunch of ladies who are all deeply involved in Politics and who are supporting Meg Whitman in her campaign to be the new Governor in California. And when I say ladies, I mean ladies. Usually I work with and hang out with film, fashion people and artists. This was different and very inspiring to discover very well educated women living in the big ‘90210′, who like to discuss everything from international politics, immigration politics to Finish literature.
Apparently Meg Whitman used to be CEO of EBay and Time ranked her among the world’s most influential people as well as Fortune ranked her the most powerful woman in business in 2004 and 2005.
Here are a couple of shots from the event.

Tonight I did a runway show for a huge charity event here in Hollywood at The Kodak Theater (where The Academy Awards are held every year). We were supporting Eco Friendly Fashion Design and I walked for 4 different designers. It was a blast. Really, we were so may models and the atmosphere was great.
At fashion shows there is always tons of waiting time between makeup, hair, fittings etc. I brought my script for the next feature film I’m shooting in May 2010 and had some time to go over it. I’m rehearsing tomorrow night with the director and the other actors so I want to be a little more familiar with my character. She is a craaaazyyy one! he he
and I’m loving it.
But we also had plenty of time to goof around and take candid and ‘posy’ pictures of each other and ourselves.
I have sooo many pictures. But here is a little peak from backstage tonight.

On Friday I had an audition for a feature film and then I was booked for a small part in a movie starring Rachel Hunter, Michael Madsen and Tom Sizemore to name a few. We shot the scenes down in Hermosa Beach just south of LA. It was a really fun experience and it reminds me of how much I love what I do.
You probably all have the days here you go: ‘ What the h… am I doing with my life? Am I on the right path or is it time to change tracks..’ Or maybe you think that you are stuck in your current tracks. Well, my advice is that if you are doing what you like then just keep going. Nothing comes from sitting around and waiting so keep excelling yourself. Tenacity and a good spirit will take you a long way.
Anyways, Saturday I had rehearsals and fittings all day for a big charity Eco fashion Show that I’m doing in The Kodak Center here in Hollywood on Wednesday. We were about 30 models, designers and stylists hanging out, sweating like pigs in the dance studio for 4 hours. But it was fun and straight after I went for an early dinner at The Soho House. I love that place. The view is unspeakably gorgeous. There I got a phone call from another director that I booked a part in his next feature film shooting in late May. It’s a character part so I’m really excited.
here are a couple of shots from yesterday’s rehearsals:

I wish I could say that I’m a doctor That I know about medical care and that I was on my way on the next flight to Haiti. I’m devastated by the news we get every hour. Children that are refused care in hospitals, no food, no clean water and no medicine or disinfectants to help clean wounds.
Mother Earth has her mysterious ways of showing her power…
If we can’t go there to offer our physical help there are many organizations we can donate through. World Vision is one.
